Letter: Embrace and accept different viewpoints

There is a higher being whether we choose to call it Allah, Buddha, the Great Spirit, God or whomever. I recall in the late 1950s hearing a man, Charles Long, from the Chicago Theological Seminary state that even atheists and agnostics have a love of humans, animals, nature or something that bonds them to this earth. This, too, can be equated in terms of higher energy source.
We must be aware of that regardless of our beliefs if people with whom we come in contact come from different backgrounds and socio-economic strata from our own. We should embrace and accept different viewpoints if these people adhere to rules set out by our society and try to be peaceful without breaking rules.
After all doesn't the Declaration of Independence state: 'We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men (intended to include both genders - as well as the misgendered) are created equal, they are endowed by their Creator, with certain unalienable rights that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness,” etc.
Republicans need to be more inclusive of Muslims, Latinos, Jewish, Asians, Native American and the like, and not disrespectful.
