Letter: Demand local control for all issues

This letter is in response to the new law regarding fireworks in Iowa.
I find it disingenuous that the legislature sees fit to use the words 'to allow local governments to have some say as to where and when fireworks could be used, we made them legal but each community can decide for themselves.”
Yet, in the same session, the legislature took away the right of a community to set its own minimum wage or ban single-use plastic bags.
This is craziness (and hypocrisy) in its finest form. Demand your legislator to allow for local control on all issues.
