Letter: Demand better representation from lawmakers

I am not quite sure what all the hype about the fireworks is about.
We voted for those who are in office in Des Moines. Now they are there representing us. What? You're not happy? Perhaps we, as Americans/Iowans, should demand better representation from these people.
I agree that they seem to go overboard to the right or left. That is what we get when we have political parties in control. Perhaps we, as Iowans, will give this some thought when we vote next time.
First, they beat down schoolteachers, then they dumped on cities with fireworks. What is next? Unneeded changes to the IPERS retirement program? Where does it stop?
