Letter: Create laws to protect children

One right that needs to be brought into the public eye is a father's rights.
There is an injustice done every day to fathers. Parents should have 50/50 rights and be required to work together to raise children. One parent should not be able move away from the other parent without forfeiting their custodial rights. This isn't only happening in Iowa, it is happening all over the United States and it needs to stop.
Children should not be alienated from one parent. We need to pay attention and get to know these judges we are voting in. They are the ones who are deciding what is best for our children.
Please look up Fathers' Rights Movement on Facebook. You will find devastating stories of fathers who don't have any rights because of the judicial system. I am truly saddened and heartbroken by this. These laws are not protecting the children. It's time to stand up for these parents' rights.
