Letter: Couple recipient of act of kindness

While my wife and I were in the waiting room at our dermatologist in Cedar Rapids on Feb. 21, a gentleman sitting next to us thanked me for my service in the U.S. Air Force. During our conversation he handed us $20 to buy our lunch. We were overwhelmed by his act of kindness and gratitude by paying it forward to us.
This demonstrated to us that there are people in this world who appreciate the sacrifices made by many of us who have served our country in the military during the Vietnam era.
Jimmy, we thank you for our lunch at Hu-Hot in Lindale Mall.
