Letter: City officials should spend money wisely

I heard about the Smulekoffs building cost and how much taxpayers lost on the sale of it. How sad.
It sure is a shame as a taxpayer I couldn't have had a say in the buying and selling of it. As a senior, on a fixed income, sure wish you'd quit spending so much money on silly things. I think when our city managers think about spending 'my” money maybe I could have some kind of a say in the decision.
We still have so many other things in our city that need to be taken care of, such as streets and bridges, and losing that much money makes me sick. Just where did you find that much money in the first place?
Please be more careful when you spend that kind of money. I think if we had been asked about this there would have been a different outcome.
