Regarding the Oct. 23 article 'C.R. golf budget still bleeding red:”
Cedar Rapids is spending a whopping $100,000 per year to support the golf program in Cedar Rapids. It would seem to me Cedar Rapids can easily afford to subsidize the golf program for $100,000.
If this is out of the question, raise the rates $1 and quit complaining. I don't hear a lot of complaining about the millions of dollars we spend on bike trails. What do the bikers pay to support this expense? And what is the annual expense to maintain all these trails?
Don't cut back on the Cedar Rapids golf courses. Keep the courses open and available to all golfers. I, and my friends, play in leagues and on three courses every week.
