Letter: Circus animals deserve better treatment

Even though this world is full of humans, there seems to be little humanity. We as humans need to find a way to stop circuses. It might look fun and cool in the crowd, but behind the curtain it is different.
Many animals are harmed every day from being in the circus, including tigers, lions, elephants and monkeys. They are whipped, electrocuted and starved. Since these animals are being treated like this, there is more of a chance of them being violent toward people.
The worst thing about it is the fact that people don't know what is happening. One night on the news, the Ringling brothers announced they are not using elephants anymore starting in May 2016. Yea, that is a good thing, but that just means they may use more lions and tigers which makes the situation worse.
It's not just elephants and lions, it is horses too. You can see when they do their acts with horses the horses are frightened by the noises and many different things happening. As a horse owner I know that horses can get scared very easily, and no circus horse is different.
I hope you see why some people are so inhuman. We need to stop circuses soon before it gets out of hand.
