Our next mayor must have the vision, professional skills, and personality necessary to build on the incredible recovery we've achieved since the flood of 2008 and take Cedar Rapids to the next level. As a community we've come a long way, but there still is so much to do. We need someone who combines a proven track record in the public and private sectors with a fresh perspective to address the challenges and seize the opportunities our community now faces.
After careful consideration of the large candidate pool, we enthusiastically support Brad Hart for our next mayor. Since moving to Cedar Rapids in 1990, he has built a highly successful law practice and contributed thousands of hours of community service to support and guide the development of our community. He knows how to get things done, while embracing an approachable and collaborative leadership style.
He has articulated a compelling vision for Cedar Rapid's path forward on his campaign website: www.hart4cr.com. He has the unique ability to engage a broad constituent base and provide decisive leadership to address issues ranging from flood protection, economic development and infrastructure to human services and quality of life.
We are incredibly fortunate to live in a vibrant city that combines an unparalleled standard of living with affordable prices. We couldn't imagine wanting to live anywhere else. We share Hart's passion for Cedar Rapids, support his vision for the future, and have great confidence in his ability to guide us there.
