Letter: Are traffic cameras about the money?
Kurt J. Noack
Dec. 2, 2016 12:00 am
For the longest period, and on record, our mayor proclaimed that traffic cameras on Interstate 380 were not about the money. Now, when the state legislature is looking into the possibility of outlawing these speed cameras, it is suddenly about safety and money that could be lost to the city budget. Mr. Mayor, how hypocritical!
How about raising money by opening up the land that was first slated for a large casino for new development proposals? Oh no, that can't be done and upset many influential powerbrokers who backed the casino idea.
