Let’s keep Iowa’s town hall discussions civil
Aug. 15, 2009 12:05 am
Town halls gone wild! It's the new tactic being used by Republicans to stop health care reform.
All across the country, Conservative AstroTurf Cabals like “Conservatives for Patients Rights” and “Freedom Works” are ushering protesters by the bus load to “crash” town hall meetings where legislators are trying to discuss reform.
They have been yelling and booing, literally preventing anyone from discussing this very important issue. This is just an attempt to prevent any real debate and to stall reform from occurring.
As a proud Iowan, I know that we are better than this.
If we don't talk about this issue nothing will get accomplished. As I write this, I haven't heard of any stunts like this here in Iowa.
Let's act like Iowans and keep it that way.
