The Gazette Opinion Staff
Apr. 14, 2013 12:59 pm
We have a United Nations chapter in Linn County that meets 7 p.m. the third Thursday at First Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, except in summer. The public is invited to meet the members and listen to a speaker on peace and justice issues.
The United Nations is the most promising body for settling disputes without war. Reaching goals for good health, education and justice in the whole world. World headquarters is in New York City and our country contributes its share to it as well as do 193 other nations.
Let's join the local group and do all we can to further its goals. The next meeting is April 18, and the subject is child development issues.
