Let others share in our street costs
The Gazette Opinion Staff

How do you want to pay for better streets? Do you want to raise property taxes and have the entire burden placed on residents?
Or do you want to extend the local-option sales tax, and ask the hundreds of commuting workers and visitors to share that burden?
For me, it is a no-brainer.
Do you love your hometown and want to help protect both sides of the river? Do you enjoy the parks, pools, school auditoriums and gymnasiums paid for by earlier Cedar Rapidians?
If you love this town, 1 cent is not too much to ask. Vote yes Tuesday.
