Legislators only interested in social issues
The Gazette Opinion Staff

This legislative session ought to be drawing to a close, but they're still fighting at the Capitol. One of the biggest “issues” they're still debating is a ban on all abortions after 20 weeks, regardless of rape, incest or problems with the health of the baby.
Not only are the specifics troubling (since this only affects about eight women a year in Iowa), but it is particularly frustrating that Republicans are taking this to the hilt.
They campaigned on economic issues, but it seems they're only interested in the social ones. How tiresome.
