Lee should appreciate his Olympic accomplishment. It appears that he does not

Spencer Lee has set very high standards for himself, as I think most athletes do. Especially Olympians! They all want to do their best, however, some do fall short. Even Simone Biles, who is the GOAT in women's gymnastics at this time, received a silver medal!
In the athletic world, their life is built around competition and no matter how good you are, on any given day, you can get beaten. Maybe no one told him that!
I was dismayed by his disdain for receiving the silver medal. When asked what went through his mind when it was placed around his neck., he said, “First thing I thought was to take it off, to be honest with you ... I don’t even have it anymore. I gave it to my sister. I don't even know where it is.”
I feel sad for him that he can't appreciate his accomplishment of being in the Olympics. What an honor that is!
I don't know what his future plans are, but if he coaches, I hope he doesn't tell his students that anything less than winning is unacceptable but instead to go out and do their best.
