Lawmakers need to stop relying on religion
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Jun. 7, 2010 12:10 am
I'm tired of seeing our lawmakers use religious belief to govern and control those who do not abide by it. Stop relying on a 2,000-year-old paradigm to base our morality upon. It threatens our global community's ability to progress and find peace.
The selfish, over-ripened, human-centered ego of these spoiled doctrines is irrelevant when stood beside the humanity of fact, reason and good will. The strength and justness of our policies and laws depends not upon their adherence to a morality based upon lies, but their likelihood to engender peace and foster growth among our people.
United, our strength is ever deepening and acceptance of others is pertinent to the survival of our kind.
