Lake Delhi dam needs support for rebuild

In 1950 my husband, Fred, bought 76 acres of farmland and developed a small resort known as Freddy's Beach. Hundreds of adults and children enjoyed the beach over the years. We feel the Lake Delhi dam should definitely be replaced, not only for practical reasons but for the memories that it holds and also will hold for future generations.
This is not a private lake. The public has been welcome, and we have also been controlled by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, a public entity. The Lake Delhi Recreation Association has provided two public beaches, and there are several public launches. We need support to restore the dam.
I was secretary of the association for 19 years, so I know the regulations that the DNR placed on our operation of the dam. Our operators worked tirelessly, without pay, within the guidelines of the DNR, to save the dam.
Please give us whatever support you can.
