Lack of judgment is a disappointment

To the editor:
We elect fellow citizens who we hope have sound judgment and all too often they really fail us. As most know by now, a member of the Senate ordered an airing of the CIA's interrogation methods. It wasn't to show how humane prisoners are usually treated, but of how a few have been interrogated less humanely after 9/11.
My question is, why would our own leaders harm us in this fashion? What good can come from it? On the other hand, what loss of life may result? In my opinion, any so-called leader who promotes such mischief should be immediately removed from office because their poor judgment is a real danger to us; especially to those fighting on foreign soil.
We've heard news people say, 'We're better than this,” referring to rough treatment of prisoners. Mostly we are, but hopefully we also have more common sense than to smile on terrorists who hold in their evil minds information about future attacks which could subject us to becoming 'sitting ducks.”
Some creatures go to great lengths not to spoil their own nest. Where is the accountability for 'leaders” who feel it necessary to make America bow in guilt before the outside world?
