Another school shooting that took the precious lives of 17 will stain the history of America forever. Again, we hear empty expressions of sympathy from some leaders and the NRA.
But this one is different. Brave survivors, students and teachers, are fighting back. They, and thousands throughout the country, are leading the way, calling out politicians and the NRA for providing easy access to military-style weapons.
These intelligent, determined students want to stop the violence now. They are no longer willing to tolerate 'doublespeak.” Most of all, they are willing to carry the heavy yolk of change - something that we grown ups have failed to do.
It's time for all of us to join them in holding politicians' feet to the fire on this issue.
