Knock off the fireworks in Marion

You know, it's bad enough that there are about 397,000 trashy looking white tents popping up all over Marion selling fireworks. It's bad enough that we have to deal with the traffic caused by this. It's bad enough that knowing on the Fourth of July it's gonna be like a war zone in Marion with all the noise. It's bad enough for those who either have their own issues with fireworks or a loved one or a pet. At least we know to expect them on that day, though, and can prepare for it.
I will admit that compared with last year, the noise annoyance isn't anywhere near as bad as it was; in fact, the trashy looking tents selling them are worse.
With that said, those who insist on setting off fireworks, you get the set hours on July Fourth to do it. You've made it clear, after your behavior last year, that you don't care how your neighbors feel about it in town. But regardless of another person's feelings on it, the law must be respected. That's on both sides.
So those of you that have been setting off fireworks for the last week or so in Marion, knock it off.
On a side note, it isn't as if we, as a nation, have a lot to feel patriotic about these days as it is, but that can be taken care of in November.
