I enthusiastically endorse Kevin Kinney as a candidate for Senate District 39.
Our district and state need hardworking, honest individuals who understand and work for the interests and needs of people who elect them. Kinney is that candidate.
I know him best for his work as a member of the Clear Creek Amana Community School's Board of Education. In that capacity he provided leadership in balancing a fair tax rate with productive facilities and education improvement plans. And his 28 years of experience as lieutenant in charge of investigations in the Johnson County Sheriff's Office has been impressive. In addition, he's been an effective advocate for victims of human trafficking and sexual assault.
He holds himself to the highest ethical standards, while remaining a truly humble individual. He is more interested in serving his community than concerns about personal recognition.
His distinguished record of community service, ability to work productively with others, and his persistent advocacy for 'the common good” make him the type of candidate I want representing me.
