Kindness of strangers never gets old

I want to publicly thank the guardian angels who came to our aid on Oct. 24. My daughter, grandson and I were on our way home to Minnesota after visiting family in Bettendorf, when we had car trouble in Cedar Rapids.
We had driven off the interstate to look for a place to have lunch when my car broke down just as we pulled up to a busy intersection under Interstate 380. We heard loud “clunking” noises (bolts had fallen out of the motor mount).
A kind policeman, Thomas Culp, and two guys stopped to help, one wearing a Marines shirt and cap and the other a guy from a plumbing and heating truck. With their help, we were able to get bolts back in and drive to Big Jim's Extreme Automotive. We were soon on our way home and made it without further incident. Thank you to these great Cedar Rapids citizens!
