Keep traffic cameras, use money for veterans

The Iowa Legislature is looking at a ban on traffic cameras. Let's see, they are saving lives, they generate income from people that don't obey the law, our roads are safer, and again, lives are saved. At the same time, we are going to cut back on benefits to our current military and our veterans due to budget constraints, well, hello! The very people who have given the ultimate sacrifice for this country, yet we are willing to cut benefits to them? Legislators, instead of banning the traffic cameras because your campaign donors don't like it, why not use some of that money to support our serving military and especially our veterans?
Yes, I have paid my fine for speeding, so I fully understand both sides. I didn't ask anyone to pay for my violation, I paid my fine and learned my lesson. Maybe others who happen to get caught wouldn't be so upset if they knew their money was going, at least in part, to something so deserving as our veterans and currently serving military
