Keep Lake Macbride accessible to all

Thank you for publishing the photo of the speeding bass boat on Lake Macbride with the Dec. 14 letter. Since Bob Burns lives on the shoreline of Macbride, he should know it is rare. Fishing at Macbride for more than 30 years, I've never seen any “speeding bullets” there myself.
Unfortunately, there always will be speeders in the water, as well as, on the highways, but the Department of Natural Resources and rangers keep this to a minimum. It's obvious that some of the homeowners on Macbride want to discourage fishermen by backing the ridiculous ordinance of allowing only 10 horsepower motors on this beautiful lake. Roughly 75 percent of the boaters in this area do not have 10-horsepower motors for their boats. Therefore, they are not allowed on Macbride waters.
Every other lake of this size in Iowa has a no-wake rule that allows all fishermen access to their waters. Taxpayers built Macbride, stocked this lake and provide enforcement on this lake. Is it fair that only a privileged few can enjoy this lake?
Macbride should be enjoyed by everyone.
