Karr will help us through the tough times
Nov. 29, 2009 12:35 am
Don Karr offers a common-sense approach in city finances and understands that we can't spend money we don't have for a new City Hall.
He will help determine the best way to release local-option sales tax money to those for whom these funds were intended versus corporations and non-profits who seek such funds. Don understands the importance of rebuilding rental property that fits the area, not focusing so much attention on the construction of multifamily units in limited areas, which provides tax breaks to builders that are not available to individuals owners and investors who own existing properties.
Don knows we have local experts and talent available versus hiring outside consultants who are unfamiliar with our community culture.
Don will work with the new mayor to develop jobs and encourage a buy-local resolution, increasingly important in these difficult economic times.
