Joni Ernst will provide strong voice

As a young Waverly radio broadcaster in the 1970s, I had the opportunity to interview dozens of political candidates. This was immediately following the Watergate scandal.
Among those candidates there was one individual, Attorney General candidate Tom Miller, who exhibited outstanding qualities of honesty, sincerity and the desire to serve.
He was the right candidate at the right time and I have supported his candidacy in every subsequent election. He has not disappointed, standing up to Microsoft and the tobacco companies and establishing one of the best state-level anti-fraud units in the country.
I see that same level of sincerity and commitment to serve in senatorial candidate Joni Ernst.
Ernst would be a strong, effective and reliable voice for Iowans, especially our veterans, farmers and small business people. She has already demonstrated her commitment to service during her 21 years in the Army Reserve and National Guard. She is the right candidate at the right time to send to a dysfunctional and unproductive Congress.
With Bruce Braley I have a genuine concern that Iowa and Iowans come third after Texas trial lawyers and a certain California billionaire. In my opinion, the Keystone pipeline would create thousands of jobs and lessen America's reliance on non-North American energy. After his initial support for the project, Braley voted against it.
