Jones comprehensive plan creates problems

At the Jones County Board of Supervisors meeting on June 5, David Schoon spoke about a decision that the Board of Adjustment made regarding a property in Castle Grove Township.
He had sold the property to a couple and that couple had sold their home and wanted to build a house on the property. Schooner stated when paying property taxes on this land, it was assessed as residential land and had a 911 address. But the Board of Adjustment said it is zoned as ag land and denied the request of building a house on it. Now he has to go back to the Board of Adjustment and try to get them to overturn its decision.
Once the (comprehensive) Smart Plan is implanted, there will be more problems like this one. People or businesses wanting to build will have to go to this office or that office, or different boards to get approval and or decisions overturned. And if studies have to be done on the property, it could take years.
This plan will make it a lot harder to build in Jones County. It will hurt the population, taxes and jobs.
