Join together to feed the hungry

To the editor:
Hunger is a horrible circumstance that has forced itself into the world and humans are the ones who caused it.
There is enough food to feed everyone in the world, but within years this may not be the case. Every five seconds a child dies; every day 30,000 children die due to the lack of food.
Food in the world is not distributed evenly, but if it was then there would not be a crisis like this one and nobody would be suffering from hunger. Hunger kills so many people a day, but it is not in the daily news. If everyone was educated about the millions of people dying from hunger then maybe it might end.
Forty percent of the food in Iowa is thrown away. We toss the food away shamelessly, not even bothering to think what would happen to it later. If this 40 percent of food was given to the hungry there might be a possibility to end world hunger.
Please help the starving children stay and help save 30,000 lives a day. You can do this by saving farmland, buying local foods, limiting meat consumption, writing legislators for more humanitarian aid and making donations.
