To the editor:
In regard to the Sept. 18 column 'Lawmakers step up for Medicare” by Dwight Baldwin:
Why are patients, cancer doctors and cancer care centers not up in arms and joining forces to put a stop to the cutting of reimbursements of these fine people in this time need?
They should be having petitions in every office and care facility in the country to be signed by every patient who comes there for treatment with a note explaining what is going on. Numbers carry a lot of weight in Washington, we all know. If nothing is done people will be driving further and further for treatment after it's too late wondering what happened.
I've had cancer in my family for years and still have two requiring treatment. One is driving 80 miles a day seven days a month already. Let's get this started now.
