Johnson ideal because she has vested interest

Anne Johnson, mother of two young kids, has a vested interest in the future of our children's education. Anne knows our community, growing up and going to school here; she has a historical perspective on the success and reputation of our teachers and schools. Anne is a certified Project Management Professional and has been a program manager for Pearson Education Services for more than 10.
She has the professional experience to help our school district focus on planning for tough issues like the budget shortfall and determining school boundaries.
Anne is a community organizer; she helped create Advocates for North Corridor High School and gathered more than 1,000 signatures in a single week to convince our school board that we need to resume discussions on the ramifications of adding a third high school.
Anne is an advocate for students; she is an assistant coach for Girls on the Run, a volunteer health and self esteem program for girls in grades 3-6 and she is a parent board member of the Education Station Child Development Center.
Anne is for more public involvement; she has committed to holding public office hours once elected and is a well known compassionate voice at school board meetings.
Anne is my choice for Iowa City school board.
