Johnson committed to rural communities

I support David Johnson in the primary election for the Democratic State House because of:
l His commitment to maintain a balanced focus when it comes to rural and urban areas. The 73rd District is representative of Iowa as a whole, which is largely rural in its culture and values.
l His commitment to placing Iowans first before big business, banks, etc. He is the only candidate who listens to “my” needs as a constituent.
l He grasps the concept of public service better than many candidates. As an example, he donated his salary the first two years he was on the West Branch City Council to the West Branch library, as well as returning checks from corporations wishing to buy his influence. That speaks volumes of his integrity and character.
l He has been active in meeting with different organizations to better understand the needs of farmers, rural workers, rural families and communities.
l He has made his platform crystal clear. He supports better education in rural communities, better jobs, fair taxation, protecting collective bargaining rights, ending corporate welfare and using that money in the communities where it is needed, utility regulation reform, and many other issues that matter to rural Iowans.
l He has agreed to release his tax records for the last five years.
