Money, influence, endorsements and partisanship all play roles in elections, sometimes to the detriment of the most qualified candidate in a race. In the race for governor, even a cursory study of the candidates quickly reveals the superior resume of John Norris.
John is the opposite of the partisan, shallow, secretive and reckless style of the current administration. John's ability to balance, manage and execute a state budget that invests in Iowa's people - the most vulnerable, the entrepreneurial, the academic, the agriculturalist - is a giant step forward.
John can craft thoughtful, quality and forward-thinking public policy. He has lived in, and thoroughly understands the issues of rural, suburban and urban communities. He is distinguished from other candidates by his ability to explain, in the clearest, most factual manner, the underlying needs that should guide the use of our state's resources. His advocacy for mental health care for all, particularly the young, and at the local level, increased funding for education, dedication to real, measured water quality that also considers the needs of farmers. His experience as chairman of the Iowa Utilities Board, chief of staff at the USDA, and commissioner on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission make him an excellent choice for governor.
John is prepared, skilled, diplomatic, realistic, and will lead Iowa back to our expected place of excellence in the U.S. This hardworking, Iowa-values candidate is worthy of our vote.
