It’s time for leaders to start leading
The Gazette Opinion Staff

I have been hearing a lot of criticism of President Obama and the job that he has done in the past three years.
I would first like to remind folks that he has not gotten much support from the Republican side of the House and Senate on the things that he has attempted to change.
Secondly, I would like to ask the naysayers to stop and think where we would be if we had continued on the same path that the previous two administrations had led us down.
The Republicans dumped a huge mess on Obama and I don't know why anyone would have wanted to get into such a mess. It is time for the leaders of this country to forget about party affiliation and think about the right thing for our country and our citizens.
As a matter of fact, I feel that scrapping the two-party system would probably be better for us than continuing to squabble and fight to honor the “party” and the money that goes along with it.
I would like to ask any one of the senators or representatives in Washington one question: “Have you done your jobs?”
