It's time for Grassley to resign
The Gazette Opinion Staff
May. 12, 2013 12:43 pm
Sen. Chuck Grassley, can you explain to me and to the families of the 26 people who died at Sandy Hook Elementary School how you could have voted against expanded background checks at gun shows or over the Internet by people who clearly should not be able to purchase guns?
Senator, you are in a safe district. The National Rifle Association could not possibly affect your re-election if you had had the courage to stand up to them. You have failed the test of leadership. I cannot understand how you could fail these 20 children and all the other children and innocent victims of gun violence.
Sen. Grassley, since you no longer have the courage to stand up and vote what is right for all the children of gun violence, perhaps it is time you resign from the U.S. Senate. Your usefulness has run its course.
