ISU, UNI also should sell ‘something’

House Study Bill 84 proposes selling the Jackson Pollock painting for
a minimum price of
$120 million with the proceeds to be used to fund scholarships for art students at the University of Iowa.
This is a bad idea but I am concerned about students at Iowa State University and University of Northern Iowa. What are we doing to help provide scholarships for students at these universities?
I believe both Iowa State University and the University of Northern Iowa should also be required to sell “something” at a value of
$120 million with the proceeds to be used to fund scholarships for students at these two great universities. I am sure both of these universities may have “something” that may not be present on their respective campus that could be sold to raise scholarship money.
Think of what this proposed $120 million could do to fund scholarships for students of the College of Veterinary Medicine at ISU. Or for scholarships for students of the College of Education at the UNI.
We need to be fair to students at all of the universities in the state, not just to UI students.
