Is taxing the rich the answer?

As I listened to the Democratic debate Feb. 11 I heard two candidates trying to climb the ladder of power on the backs of the rich. Taxing the rich seemed to be the answer to most of this country's problems. It also became evident why people seeking freedom come to the U.S. These two individuals, if they had the power, would decide what was right or wrong and taxing the rich set well in their minds just as sure as any subjective law sets well in a dictator's mind.
Article I in our Constitution under Section 8 states: 'The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes ... but all Duties, imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States.”
Here, is protection for the rich and for you and me when we acquire more than someone else. No party member determines our laws no matter how high up on the ladder of power they get just as no poor man gives another a job. God bless the rich in their endeavors.
America's concern should be for the U.S. Constitution, it is that steadfast document that is the envy of peoples all over the world struggling to survive changeable laws enforced by unprincipled leaders.
Sad isn't it how many people can be sidetracked from the very documents that protect them and theirs and even clap as would-be leaders lay out plans for their demise as a free people? We've come a long, long way from the common sense of old.
