Is Libertarian Party your political home?

Many of today's presidential contenders are portraying themselves as libertarian leaning candidates. Politicians running for national and statewide office, both Republican and Democrat, also make this claim.
This is not surprising as most of today's problems can only be solved by libertarian solutions of less government and greater freedoms.
At the Libertarian State Convention held May 7 in Johnston, Roger Gary was selected to represent the state party in its ballot petitioning efforts until a candidate is selected at our national party's convention in Las Vegas next May.

Also, a new platform plank passed, as follows: “We believe that government should use its powers of Eminent Domain only when necessary for the constitutional functions of government. It should not be able to sell or forfeit those powers to individuals, corporations, companies, or other groups. Where property, including land, has been taken from its rightful owners by the government in violation of individual rights, we favor restitution to the rightful owners.”
More than 1,500 voters call the Libertarian Party their political home in Iowa. If you believe in minimum government and maximum freedom perhaps you belong, too.
