Is Cal Thomas the arbiter of appropriateness?

Was it inappropriate for trans activists to go topless at the White House? That probably fits with the definition in dictionary.com. but it isn't really my place to judge. Will they, like in Rome, be the downfall of our society? Surely not. They took their shirts off. It isn't like they and thousands of their friends sexually abused children and then covered it up for decades. Perhaps the preachers don't preach about sin as much any more because they are too busy trying to escape the consequences of their own.
And there are numerous instances where people in the military committed grave crimes of humanity. We surely wouldn't condemn the entire military for the actions of the perpetrators of The Mai Lai Massacre. Syndicated columnist Cal Thomas (Gazette, June 21) and way too many other people are happy to blame our society's problems on the LGBTQ community and some trans activists who they feel made a decision which was inappropriate. Perhaps we should go beyond Dictionary.com, beyond Cal Thomas, and me, and any one person or book or belief system, to decide what is appropriate.
People are complex. They do good things and bad things and stupid things … and although I am not religious at all … "judge not lest ye be judged" always seemed like a pretty good rule. For a Christian, Cal Thomas seems pretty happy to stand in judgment. I hope more people stop following his example.
