Iowa Sens. Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst; please vote to convict and disqualify Donald Trump for the Jan. 6 attack on our democracy. Right-wing militants attacked our U.S. Capitol building, fueled by the big lies peddled by Trump and some Republicans desperate to overturn the will of voters. We must hold Trump accountable for calling on extremists to 'show strength.” In order for our country to heal, and to prevent a repeat, those who levied violence and sedition against our country must be held accountable, especially Trump.
Senators, our democratically elected leaders have the duty to govern in our nation's best interest. And it is Iowa voters duty to evaluate how you vote on these violent acts that led to five American deaths. Our country is deeply divided, but Americans from all walks of life agree that the attack on our Capitol was unacceptable. We must come together as a nation to hold those responsible to account.
We achieve justice for our nation by convicting and disqualifying Trump, who violated his oath and endangered our democracy. That is how we can move forward together and you keep your seats with dignity. How will history remember you both? Honorable or not?
