I was happy to see Gov. Kim Reynolds' 17th Executive Order establishing the Iowa Nuclear Energy Task Force. There have been similar groups in other states, and it is reasonable that an accurate report can be produced within the 180 day requirement.
I have known several persons who have worked at one of the seventeen National Laboratories in the U.S., and they have all been quality people. This is why I am delighted that the task force chair is not only an Iowa native but a director at Pacific Northwest Nuclear Laboratory. This assures me that the result will not be a haphazard assessment kowtowing to industry. I look forward to reading the final report this summer.
