Iowa needs priorities, not tax breaks

The Gazette guest column just published, “Use the surplus to reduce emissions.” That should have been at the top of our priority list. But as usual, you can sign off on another tax return. Republicans need to remember where and when we need help. The environment with clean air and water should be priorities, They aren’t!
Iowa is a climate laggard which has been proven more than once. We’ve been subjected to the same song and dance the tobacco industry used by telling us that it’s healthy to smoke. Well, here we co again. We get the similar sermon with climate concerns. All tests and reports say Iowa’s air and water need help.
In the meantime, open up the purse and get to work.
