Iowa GOP platform is radical

This is a wake-up call to all moderate Iowans, from all parties.

The Iowa Republican Party is not your moderate friend. It is a radical bunch pushing a policy agenda that is outside most Iowans' norm.

For example, the Iowa Republican Party wants to repeal all mandatory minimum wage laws; create uncertainty at our Veterans Affairs health facilities at a time when our brave men and women are fighting two protracted wars; and eliminate the bedrock of our social safety net for our economically challenged and senior citizens by taking away many benefits and privatizing Medicare, Medicaid and the Social Security system.

As an individual receiving Social Security and veteran benefits, I cannot afford the Republican agenda.

There is not much time left before the election, folks. All I ask is that you are aware of what the Republican Party truly stands for, and that is a radical approach to reforming our Iowa communities as we know them.

Please don't allow this to happen. We cannot afford these policies.
