Iowa counties must be consistent with ballots

Steve Holt, representing the Republican majority in the Iowa House, waxed eloquently about the fundamental and sacred right to vote in Winneshiek County. Of course, your vote will be counted; the majority will guarantee it. Well, actually, to borrow a few words from House Speaker Linda Upmeyer, 'something like that,” 'sort of,” 'I guess.”
It is past time for all 99 counties in Iowa to treat absentee ballot votes equally. Some votes should not be more or less likely to be counted, if all are turned in on time.
