Iowa casinos should be smoke free

It is interesting that after being denied a casino license, Cedar Rapids wants to open the only smoke free casino in Iowa. Iowa's commercial casinos are collectively the largest tourist attraction in the state, employing 9,241 workers and drawing more almost 22.6 million visitors per year. So, how do we thank our customers and employees? By exposing them to cancer-causing chemicals.
Iowa needs to protect all casino workers. Across the country and around the world many states, cities, and towns have done the right thing and made casinos smoke free to protect their workers' and citizens' health. In fact, more than 80 million Americans now enjoy smoke-free ordinances. We need Iowa to join this ever-increasing list of states that are protecting their citizens by going smoke free in casinos.
