Involved citizens are the goal, win or lose

The election is over and probably as many good, sincere people lost as won. My daughter, Lynn Goya, ran for the first time for State Assembly in Nevada. I spent the last few days of the campaign with her and met many dedicated helpers.
They wanted to address issues such as taxes, education, jobs, water, just as we do here in Iowa. It takes a lot of contributions of time, money, research, driving to distant meetings. Even though they didn't use television or newspaper ads, it costs lots of money. But they think having a democracy concerned with the will of the people is worth it, win or lose.
What a valuable experience it was for me. All of the Iowa workers, whether their candidate won or lost, should be highly commended.
