Invest in the future, not the past

To the editor:
I don't understand why certain groups of people in our city of potholes want to waste good money on a 100-year-old project like the Knutson Building. It's time they do more for our future instead of spending their time and money on the past.
Our older school buildings especially need to be updated. Also, put something in the Time Check area that is beneficial to the whole city. It's time for city leaders to quit pandering to the wealthy eastsiders and get their act together and do something for our young with a year-round indoor sports facility and even something for us old geezers, too.
The casino is dead, let's get over it.
