Inmates running the asylum in Des Moines

Unfortunately for Iowans, not all folks in need of confinement and mental rehabilitation are residing in a mental health institute. Instead, they are governing Iowa. They are under the delusion that they are the sole arbiters of morality and that their duty is to lead us to goodness. However, insanity reigns supreme because one of the bills they are considering for school children's safety is to give teachers guns.
We must keep in mind that these are the same Republican legislators and governor who " protected" our children by banning books. Please consider the insanity in this. These are also the same legislators and governor who do not trust teachers to select books, but they will give them guns. The element of danger is just not the same.
Unless someone can show me how a child can be beaten to death with a copy of “Huckleberry Finn,” I will continue to believe that sensible gun control is absolutely necessary to protect our children. That necessity is not a realization for our governor and our Republican legislators whose mission has been to obliterate any possible gun control laws. Iowa voters can act to protect our children by voting them out of office. We need to end the insanity.
