Increase county’s tourists, revenue
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Mar. 2, 2013 10:17 am
Our community non-profits would receive more than $24 million from a casino here in Linn County in the first decade. Not bad for a new enterprise. Plus we would have new jobs.
Addiction would be no more than what already exists. They just would not have to drive as far as Riverside or Waterloo. Better to be here, close to friends and family. More people coming to our community mean more business at our motels, stores and restaurants. Thinking of all the positive, we're voting yes.
On behalf of Barbara Ruifenstahl, Loretta Kvach, Charlotte Rowray, Betty Svoboda, Susan Halt, James Kvach, all of Cedar Rapids; and Elizabeth Trcka, Tom Trcka, both of Swisher.
