Include Hughes in gubernatorial debate
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Aug. 29, 2010 12:48 am
Gov. Chet Culver and former Gov. Terry Branstad are campaigning for governor on their separate issues.
The good news is that we now have an advocate running for governor who actually cares about the common person.
Gregory Hughes is a hard-working, down-to-earth activist who has demonstrated by his life work that he is deeply concerned for truth, justice, peace and people.
His advocate work in “Give Me Liberty” was not for his gain but gave the common person in need of Pro Se (self-help legal representation) assistance and hope.
He has a school for Tae Kwon Do. He does not flaunt his abilities to overpower others. The basic premise of this art is to persuade and reason with others to eliminate violence.
He has the basic heart and energy to take each person's issues and guide them to the best place to solve their needs.
Our country is waking up to the need for fresh leadership. The two-party platform has failed us.
Greg is the symbolism of our roots, hard work, justice and truth.
We are a state that has great potential and his energetic leadership will work miracles for us. Please include him in the debates.
