Immigrants removed under the guise of deporting serious criminals

Hardworking immigrants, many here legally, are being swept up under the false pretense of removing hard core criminals. We see construction, farm, hospitality, and so many more workers being arrested/detained/deported. These are hardworking folks, some of whom have been here for years paying taxes and contributing to our society. I must imagine they have also been accumulating assets. What is happening to their assets? Is the government seizing them? Does this play a part in who is targeted?
What is the end game? Is the current purge a prelude of what’s to come as the current administration follows the authoritarian playbook? Will they begin to seize minority or immigrant-owned businesses, whether citizens or not? Think it can’t happen here? It took place in Nazi Germany and we seem to be headed down the same road.
